Atlantic Way and Jacksonville North East Florida - Forging Links
Having built up a sense of momentum and fruitful collaboration internally within the Atlantic Way Region, it makes sense to reach out to other progressive regions in different countries.

Collaboration stands to benefit the Atlantic Way region in many different and practical ways. For instance, tangible business, tourism, trading and other connections and opportunities can be gainfully explored when contacts are established and built upon.

The links formed with the Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership and the Jacksonville/North East Florida Region is a prime example of how Atlantic Way is connecting with other leading regions around the world to bring about benefits for the region.

Jacksonville/North East Florida RegionJacksonville/North East Florida Region
Jacksonville is a vibrant home to a broad spectrum of industries. It has a pro-business environment and is a burgeoning international trade center.  It is also the hub of the seven Northeast Florida counties (Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns) – which form one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States. It is a Region with a clear vision and where exciting progress is being made by committed communities and government leaders collaborating to advance their Region. Their vision is simple – they wish to continue to be a place where businesses will thrive while preserving the area’s natural resources and pristine surroundings.

Jacksonville/North East Florida Region offers many advantages for businesses that locate there – including access to over 45 million consumers within an eight-hour drive of the Region.  The broad array of prominent industries that now call the area home include those operating in the areas of Financial Services; Aviation; Logistics; Life Sciences;  Information Technology;  Advanced Manufacturing and Corporate Headquarters.

The Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership

One of the keys to the success of the Jacksonville/North East Florida Region is The Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership which is Jacksonville and Northeast Florida's regional economic development initiative. Cornerstone is a private, nonprofit division of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce. Its purpose is to facilitate the creation of quality jobs and significant capital investment, resulting in a higher standard of living and a better quality of life in Northeast Florida.

The Atlantic Way and the Cornerstone Regional Developme

nt Partnership have recently formed an international link with a view to building strong ties to advance the economic objectives of both Regions. Already a number reciprocal trade missions have been undertaken to advance the ways in which we can work together to stimulate trade.  For instance, collaborating can give Atlantic Way businesses access to 45 million consumers in the United States and can give the Jacksonville/ North East Florida companies a beachhead into Europe and 800 million consumers. There are also opportunities to stimulate tourism, to explore our approaches to research, innovation, education and healthcare and to look at joint venture possibilities.

During the months ahead, we will report on progress via our website.
