Leaders Collaborating for Progress
The fundamental principle underlying the approach and activities of Atlantic Way is based on various interests and organisations acting collaboratively in pursuit of shared goals
These goals include: the development of a world-class region of excellence; the advancement of significant strategic projects and capitalising on the Region’s strategic location between East and West.
Within this approach, each group and organisation retains its own identity and role but comes together and collaborates in order to achieve shared objectives.
Atlantic Way’s ‘Vision 2020’ document sets out an overall agenda for our programme of work, with several working groups, or Action Groups, focused on achieving the key objectives set out in ‘Vision 2020’.
These Action Groups include Enterprise; Connectivity, Infrastructure and Logistics; Knowledge; Culture and Creativity; Tourism and Leisure; Environment, and Marketing.

Connectivity, Infrastructure and Logistics Action Group:
To develop a world-class infrastructure and improved connections to global markets via our airports and sea ports, and advanced road and rail infrastructure.
Enterprise Action Group:
To ensure a strong and vibrant enterprise sector, which will involve and attract investment from both Irish entrepreneurs and overseas companies that trade internationally and invest in R&D and innovative processes.
Knowledge Action Group:
To ensure our world-class education and training system matches the future needs of enterprise and our employment growth sectors of the future.
Tourism and Leisure Action Group:
To further develop the tourism potential of the Region based upon our rich natural assets and heritage.
Culture and Creativity Action Group:
To develop the culture and creative industries sector in the Region, to support its growth and to have the Region recognised as a centre of creative excellence.
