The Atlantic Way – Quality of Life

Ireland’s Atlantic Way Region is centred on the West and Mid West of Ireland, but extends from Donegal to Kerry. The Region is a perfect place to live, work and to enjoy life to its fullest:

The Welcome
The Atlantic Way is a welcoming community of over 1 million people and, despite the many attractions which the Region offers, the friendliness of the people is still the most remarked upon feature of those who choose to live and work here.

Making a Living, Living a Life
As you would expect in a progressive Region, people work hard in all sectors of employment. However, getting the balance between work, play, family and relax time is important and the region offers all the facilities, amenities and services to help make this happen.

Home in 15 Minutes!
More than 1 in every 3 people working in the Atlantic Way Region are home within 15 minutes of leaving work and more than 2 in every 3 people are home within 30 minutes. This reflects the availability of work close to the population centres and an excellent and uncongested road network. It means more quality time every day to chill out and relax!

Vibrant Cities, Towns and Villages
One of the key features of the Region is its diversity. In a small and compact area, 200 miles from end to end, you have dynamic cities, large and small towns and rural villages – all set within a landscape that includes a dramatic Atlantic coastline, great rivers, lakes and rich pasturelands. The Gateway cities include Galway City and Limerick/Shannon.The Cliffs of Moher, part of the Atlantic Way’s dramatic coastline

Great natural attractions within the Region include: The Atlantic Coastline, superb beaches, The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren and Connemara National Parks, Clew Bay, The River Shannon, Lough Derg and Lough Corrib, the Ring of Kerry and much more.

Go Racing or Watch Giants Collide
In the Atlantic Way we are passionate sport followers. Gaelic Football and hurling (the latter the fastest ball game in the world) has a huge following, particularly inter-county matches. Rugby too is hugely popular. This is the home of Munster, twice champions of Europe. Horse racing and greyhound racing are also really enjoyable outings.
